Developmental movement establishes early pathways for the movement that will be occurring our entire life, whether we are talking about the movement of our spine and limbs in the space around us, or from the perspective of the internal movement of our thoughts, emotions perceptions and intentions.&lt;br /&gt;&#xD;
As we travel from primitive to more sophisticated movement patterns, we are &amp;ldquo;revisiting&amp;rdquo; the sequential stages of our&amp;nbsp; development. We have the opportunity to realise in which stages we feel free and at ease, and in which stages we feel more inhibited. Any movement pattern that doesn&amp;rsquo;t feel familiar enough to our body-mind, indicates that we need to practice the preceding stages that will, once consolidated, provide support, and lead us naturally into the next stage of development.&lt;br /&gt;&#xD;
We practice each stage in different relationships to gravity &amp;ndash; prone, supine, quadruped, standing upright - and in the context of fundamental movement principles of yield, push reach and pull.&lt;br /&gt;&#xD;
All throughout the journey, we are pairing movement with perception, and looking to create neuromuscular connections needed for smooth, safe, coordinated, and integrated sense of moving and being.&lt;br /&gt;&#xD;
