This course provides an opportunity to explore emotions through the body, acquiring practical tools for regulation based on somatic awareness.

The practice begins on the floor, with various methods of tension-release – rolling movement, vocalisation, breath-work, tactile stimulation and gravity awareness. Plenty of attention is dedicated to reducing tightness in the area of the head: throat, jaws, and the brain.

As our systems relax and settle down, we sense into our natural vitality. The internal diaphragmatic rhythms and energetic flows become perceptible and available as a resource for our journey of exploring the movement and expression of our feelings.

This exploration takes places entirely within the realm of nurturing safety and mindful, open attention. It involves engaging in movement while being attuned to the felt sense of emotions as they arise and subside in the body. Different strategies are then explored, in response to the emerging experiences.
